We are pleased to announce the publication of our new report Albania: Trafficked Boys and Young Men, produced in collaboration with Asylum Research Centre (ARC) Foundation today.

Legal representatives representing young Albanian asylum seekers in the UK and elsewhere in Europe identified this topic as a major gap in COI relating to young person and child-specific persecution and harm and a common barrier for quality decision making for young Albanian males claiming asylum in the UK.

Our report combines relevant and timely publicly available material with new information generated by interviewing ten individuals with authoritative knowledge on the topic. It helps fill the gap in the COI literature and to contribute to a more transparent and informed debate about the topic.

It is part of a series of strategic research reports to address the most critical gaps in country of origin information in the UK refugee status determination procedure. The report and associated press release is available below.
