Katherine James is one of our MENA Team Coordinators. Katherine is currently a Senior Research Assistant at Samuel Hall, a social enterprise that conducts research, evaluates programmes, and designs policies in contexts of migration and displacement. At Samuel Hall, her work has included developing workshops on return and reintegration with the governments of Georgia and Iraq, as well as designing and implementing qualitative fieldwork in contexts ranging from Afghanistan to DRC. Prior to joining Samuel Hall, she worked with migrants and refugees in several contexts, which include developing and implementing informal education initiatives for refugees in Serbia and working on labour migrant abuse cases in Cyprus. She spent several months researching socio-economic integration of sub-Saharan migrants and refugees in Rabat, Morocco in support of her master's thesis. Katherine holds an MA in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) at Sciences Po Paris and a BA in Government from Wesleyan University. Katherine is based in Casablanca and has been a researcher on the MENA team since early 2020.
