Carol Bohmer, is an Asia and America's team researcher. She is a lawyer and sociologist, a retired academic, currently a Visiting Scholar in the Government Department at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, USA. She has worked pro bono on behalf of asylum seekers for over 20 years, both in the US and the UK. She is the coauthor with Amy Shuman of Rejecting Refugees: Political Asylum in the 21 st Century, (2007) and Political Asylum Deceptions: The Culture of Suspicion, (2018), and a number of articles on migration issues.
