Five Asylos researchers and coordinators represented the network last week at the Austrian Red Cross' ACCORD (Austrian Centre for Country-of-Origin and Asylum Research and Documentation) blended learning course on country-of-origin research.

Having spent five weeks undergoing the European Asylum Support Office's online training module, our volunteers joined with representatives from immigration offices in Austria, the UK, and Germany, as well as legal representatives from NGOs such as Austria's Verein Menschenrecht to discuss best practice, exchange research tips, and better understand the landscape in which country-of-origin information is being used within various asylum systems.

Asylos invests regularly in training and innovation for its volunteer researchers, who bring a wide variety of skills to the network. ACCORD is a leading organisation in the methodology of country-of-origin research, and one with whom Asylos has worked regularly on new approaches to COI. Bringing our volunteers together with ACCORD is an important part of our training regimen.
