Liz Williams
is a trustee of Asylos and started her career as a COI research specialist. She went on to co-found Asylum Research Centre in 2010 where she was co-Director for ten years and subsequently a trustee. Her focus was promoting standards in COI research and leading projects to improve COI usage and refugee decision making. Alongside this Liz was Freedom from Torture’s Senior Policy Advisor (2018-2020) and acted as a consultant for Amnesty International UK, the European Asylum Support Office, the Hungarian Helsinki Foundation, the Independent Advisory Group on Country Information, the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and UNHCR. She is currently the Policy Impact Manager at the Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre where she works to bridge the gap between high-quality academic research and the world of policymaking and law-making on modern slavery. She holds an MA in Social Anthropology of Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies and an MA (hons) in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh.
